COME TO KYTHIRA RETREAT
COME TO KYTHIRA RETREAT
Join Elly and Loula on a Greek adventure, where ‘island time’ takes on a whole new meaning!
Discover the beauty of Kythira, a stunning Ionian island known as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. This trip will offer you the chance to experience Kythira in a truly authentic way—through the eyes of a local.
During your stay, you’ll immerse yourself in the island’s culture with local workshops, traditional Greek dancing, and plenty of time to relax and soak up the Mediterranean vibes. You’ll savour delicious local cuisine, explore hidden beaches, and enjoy the healing waters of the sea.
This is more than just a visit; it’s an opportunity to connect deeply with Kythira’s rich history, traditions, and natural beauty, all while experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the island’s people.
Who are we?
Loula
Gianoula or Loula (as she is affectionately known) family’s roots on her father's side date back for centuries on the beautiful island of Kythira. Loula is extremely proud of her Greek heritage and her great joy is being able to share this rich and wonderful culture with others on her family island.
"There is nothing better than the wind in your hair and salt of the Mediterranean Sea to make you feel alive and free! Come visit Kythira, my home, my heart!"
Elly-Grace
Elly has always said that Kythira is her second home. Ever since the summer of 2015 where she was seen riding a yellow Piaggio scooter up and down the island (occasionally delivering fish for her grandfather). She has a love of bringing people together to eat, dance and drink local wine. Elly can’t wait to share her island home with you!
Our Kythira Retreat is for women (aged 18+) who want to….
Connect and grow with a small group of women
Leave their inhibitions at home and be challenged (in the best way!)
Experience Greek/Kytherian culture through the eyes of a local
Why Visit Kythira?
Kythira is a hidden gem, offering a serene escape where nature and adventure meet. With its rugged cliff tops, winding dirt roads, and secluded beaches, the island’s beauty is untouched and unspoiled. Unlike the more tourist-driven destinations like Mykonos or Santorini, Kythira exudes a quiet, authentic charm and a rich culture all its own. It’s a place that will leave you feeling refreshed, alive, and connected to the world around you.
Come, leave your inhibitions behind, and discover the freedom and tranquility that Kythira so beautifully offers.

FAQ’S
-
That things don’t always go to plan and being flexible to those changes is what helps you to relax on island time. This means that most shops shut down during the heat of the day and resume in the evening. The Greeks usually have an afternoon siesta between 4-6pm.
-
You will require moderate to high levels of fitness. There are a lot of stairs, small hills and unstable ground on the island. For those who want to challenge themselves, there will be optional hikes to secluded beaches and lakes.
-
There will be 8 ladies on this trip together, including Loula and Elly.
-
Greece has a Mediterranean climate, so lightweight and comfortable clothing is recommended, especially in summer. Be sure to dress modestly when visiting churches or monasteries (cover your shoulders and knees). Comfortable shoes are essential for exploring ancient ruins or cobblestone streets.
-
Return domestic flights between Athens to Kythira are included however international flights are not included. Travelly Concierge is happy to help you arrange flights (for an additional fee), please email travellyconcierge@gmail.com if this service is required.
-
As of 12 October 2025, visitors to Greece are now required to obtain a visa prior to arriving. For more information, click here.
-
For lunch and dinner, we’ll handle the ordering for the table, with a focus on Greek culture’s tradition of sharing meals. Expect an array of Greek salad, meats, bread, dips, vegetables, and traditional dishes like calamari, octopus, moussaka, pastitsio, Greek meatballs, and saganaki. Breakfast will include local pastries, yogurt, honey, fresh fruit, bread, ham, cheese, eggs, and drinks. Tipping (10%) is included in the cost. *Please note: severe food allergies cannot be catered for.
-
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate severe food allergies or specific dietary requirements. The meal will be served family-style for the entire table, so if you are gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian, you will need to select from the options available to everyone.
-
This women’s-only tour is designed to empower women, boost confidence, and reconnect with their authentic selves in a supportive, transformative environment. While we understand the desire to share the experience, the focus is on personal growth and connection with other women.
-
The roads on Kythira are narrow, windy and at times very steep. If you get car sick please be aware and pack the necessary medication.
-
As outlined in the itinerary, two private, air-conditioned cars are provided for transportation. There are no public buses on Kythira, except for those connecting the island to the mainland by ferry, and taxis are limited. During your free time, you are welcome to stroll through the village, explore the springs, visit the bakery, journal or lay in the hammock. Due to the village's remote location, exploring the island independently is not feasible.
-
There will be opportunities for souvenir shopping in Chora, Potamos and Kapsali. However please note, shopping time is limited.
-
Cats are everywhere - around the island and our accommodation (Elly adopted a cat called George last year). If you love cats, then this retreat is definitely for you!
